Other Hyperpigmentation
-
Freckles
Freckles are small, tan to brown spots that develop on sun-exposed skin, typically on the face, arms, and shoulders. They are typically caused by increased melanin production.
-
Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation
(PIH) Pigmentation can happen in skin areas that have experienced inflammation due to trauma or acne.
-
Solar Lentigines
These liver spots or age spots are fairly well defined, small patches of brown skin that get bigger over time.
-
Solar (Actinic) Keratoses
These are dark, dry and scaly patches of skin that have suffered UV damage. They should be checked by a doctor as there’s a chance they could become skin cancer.
-
Seborrheic Keratoses
These are non-cancerous skin growths, that can be brown and look warty, that develop with age and UV damage.
Prescriptions can be issued and treatment sold here for Melasma, but not for other forms of hyperpigmentation. Complete a comprehensive medical questionnaire and upload photos for evaluation for us to assess your individual case.
If in doubt about a new brown patch, please see your own doctor to rule out sinister causes such
as skin cancer.
