About me

I am a medical doctor, currently working both as an NHS GP, and as an aesthetic professional, consulting on skincare and performing cosmetic procedures. Leading up to this point, I have also worked in cardiology, urology, psychiatry, paediatrics, A+E, elderly care, and vascular surgery, have done research projects, audits, and run teaching programmes. My many years of working in medicine have given me an understanding of how to approach any change we want to make to our bodies – including changes that affect appearance.

As someone who cares deeply in the best possible outcome for my patients, I have always been passionate about researching the latest developments and getting the evidence based facts, before investing in any product or treatments for my patients or myself.  Driven by both my career and personal interest, I have spent many years separating myths from facts by researching common aesthetic treatments, products, and lifestyle advice.

Melasma is a skin issue that I have faced myself and is notoriously difficult to treat. Many people find that with over-the-counter products, expensive clinic treatments, and even laser therapy, the pigmentation stubbornly remains. The gold standard treatment for melasma is triple therapy cream, but due to needing a prescription from a qualified doctor, most people with melasma are not offered this, or even know that it is an option.  This fact was the inspiration for this site; I offer this treatment that has the best chance of improving melasma.
